The Best Way to Do Running Training With your Womens Trainers

No matter what type of event you may be preparing for you still need to understand the basics involved in runner training. To get the maximum benefit from your training sessions you will have to create a program that involves a variety of runs, weight training and stretching routines and then of course the right choice of womens trainers to make sure you do not get injured.

Combine flat track workouts with off road runs. Intersperse your long distance running with some short sprints. Make sure that you have some hill work mixed in with those laps around the track. Keep your body guessing about what is coming next so you are always at the top of your game. Make sure your running trainer has the right fit and do not forget to look at what kind of running you will be doing.

Complacency has no place in runner training. If you are serious about building better strength, endurance and lung power you need to provide enough training variety to help your body move to the next level.

While some people run for pleasure, and others run for health and fitness, most people are planning to put their running talent to the test in an upcoming race or marathon. Whatever your reason for running you definitely have an idea about what you want to accomplish. This means that you need to be aware of how to get the most out of any of your training sessions so you will reach the goals that you set.

Spring and fall are two of the best seasons for runners because there are such a variety of competitive events to participate in. Even the summer and fall months present runners with some top racing activities.

If you have only recently begun to train as a runner you will probably want to try your luck in the 5K events. These road races are just 3.1 miles long and should take you about 30 minutes or less to complete. Top runners will finish the course in about 15-20 minutes.

As with any type of training activity you should always begin at a pace which you find comfortable and then begin to increase the distance and speed. Taking things slowly will help you avoid overexertion and possible injuries to your bones or muscles.

It is always advisable to have a physical prior to beginning any runner training. Once you have been cleared to participate it will be All Engines on Go!

If you can just run for a few minutes at a time you will need to increase your stamina slowly but surely. This can be done by switching between power walking and jogging. Not only is this type of training easier for beginners, it is more challenging to your body to mix up the routines in this manner. This keeps your body guessing as to what demands will be coming next.

Although you can run 7 days a week you should always have 2 days of rest each week in order for your muscles to repair and recuperate. You may want to dedicate Monday and Friday as your weekly rest days. It will also be a must with this much training to change your womens trainers once in a while so you are not using the same running trainer all week.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday you can begin with a series of stretches and warm up exercises for 15-30 minutes. Then you should run your designated distance at a pace you find comfortable. Do not forget to have a cool down period immediately after this running workout.

Hold your stretches for at least 30-45 seconds each time. This allows your muscles to respond properly. You may see others rush through a series of stretches but their muscles will not be receiving any real benefit of any type. Vary the stretches that you do from week to week to provide your body with more challenges.

Each week you can increase the distance that you run each day by a ¼ mile. Try to maintain the same pace as you have in the past for much of this distance but always incorporate a few sprints into your run as well. This type of variety will provide additional challenge to your muscles and cardiovascular system.

Wednesday is the day when you should strengthen your body and build your stamina with cross training activities. You can bike, swim or go to the gym for a workout on an elliptical trainer or stair step machine. Try to exercise for at least 45 minutes during each of these sessions.

When you are cross training you need to mix up the speeds and distances during your training sessions. This will keep your body performance at its maximum ability and you will boost the benefits of the cross training.

Sunday should be a day that you relax by walking your normal distance. You can do a power walk or a combination of running and walking.  Once again you are challenging your body and maximizing the benefits of this less strenuous workout.

For the best results in your runner training sessions you will discover that variety is the key. Long runs, hill work, sprints, walks and cross training exercises need to part of your routine. When you combine these workouts in different ways your body will have to keep adjusting to meet the demands.

If you just keep practicing the same training routine day after day your body is going to soon figure out how to achieve the result with a minimum amount of exertion. If this happens you will not improve your muscles, lung power, stamina or running ability. Instead you will just stay “stuck in a rut” instead of noticing continual improvement of your running prowess.

Collectors Find a New Item worth Collecting: Vintage trainers on the Rise

The world is full of people who like to collect things. The items that people collect can range from anything basic like stamps to something quite eccentric like bottle caps. One category of things that have risen in popularity amongst collectors is vintage trainers. There are a lot of people out there who would be willing to pay big bucks for vintage trainers that date back a decade or two and are currently not in production by the manufacturing company.

The reasons why retro footwear fans have been known to pay a lot of money for classic trainers from different manufacturers are many, with the rarity being one of the central reasons. Everyone likes to look different and own something that not many people can boast of having. Vintage trainers have a tendency to give the owner a feeling of uniqueness and exclusivity that a mass produced pair of shoes cannot provide.

The rarer these types of shoes are, the more they can fetch on the vintage trainers market. This guideline applies to all types of retro footwear including womens trainers, men’s trainers and even children’s sizes. Furthermore, these types of retro shoes are highly sought regardless of which manufacturer they come from. However, one thing apart from rarity that has a significant bearing of how well any pair will sell is its condition. Resultantly, only classic trainers that are in a decent shape will draw in enough interest from collectors.

In addition to this, the classics are all set to make a comeback with even major manufacturers scrambling to tap into the classic trainers market. This includes popular trainers manufacturing brands such as Adidas, Nike, Puma, Converse and many others.

As the popularity of vintage trainers has risen amongst the masses, the major manufacturers have realized the monetary potential of such a niche in the market. These manufacturers are now releasing multiple limited editions whose designs mimic the old school classics to woo the fans of retro and classics. The idea of limited editions that reproduce the popular designs of an earlier era is still a new one.

This concept that is very popular amongst vintage trainers enthusiasts can also be dubbed ‘the reissue’. As mentioned above, the concept of reissue is basically an established brand re-releasing one of its earlier models without any modifications to the new designs.

This means that an aficionado of old school designs now has two options available to him. He can go for the genuine items of a bygone era i.e. the shoes that were produced a decade or two before and have, at least, been used once. The alternative is buying a reissue of the classic model provided by manufacturers.

The authenticity that classic footwear from olden decades provides to a fan cannot be matched by reissues. On the other hand, the durability and the charm of being the first owner of something that reissued models provide cannot be compared to old pairs either. Therefore, the choice with regard to the direction that the vintage trainers fan wants to take is a matter of preference.

How To Tie Your Womens Trainers

Knowing the proper way to tie women’s trainers can be the difference between keeping your pace while running and having to stop in the middle and retie them. Lacing up women’s sneakers should always start with your feet in them. If you lace up and then try to slip your feet inside you won’t get a snug fit and that could lead to blisters. If your womens trainers are new you will need to stretch them out first, make sure to lace them up tight but allow some movement. It’s important to know that your feet will swell more after a run so take your shoes off so your feet can relax.

After you slip your foot inside your womens trainers you should stand up so your toes can extend to the end of the shoe. Slowly sit back down and begin to lace them up while wiggling your toes. If you cramp your toes it will become uncomfortable and new shoes need a little breathing room. Keep your laces tight but know that after you start walking or running they will loosen up. Make sure the tongue of the shoe is straight and covers the top part of your ankle; this helps to keep your shoe in place and also lets you know if your women’s sneakers are too loose.

For shoes that are a little worn you should also lace them up taught but not too tight. New laces have some give and replacement laces are designed to replace the previous pair. When you buy replacement laces make sure to buy as close to the original as you can. It will help with lacing up and you won’t have to wonder if the laces will stay tight or not. If you walk or run each day then your womens trainers will need to rest. Shoes loose their shape if they are not taken care of, purchase some shoe trees so your shoes can keep their original shape and the shoe trees will absorb any moisture so they won’t break down before their time.

If you run a lot then you should double knot your shoes after tying them. This helps to eliminate retying them in the middle of a run or race. You can use a standard knot and when you are done running make sure to untie your shoes and let the laces set, don’t leave them tied or they will wear out faster. Moisture, dirt and sweat are all enemies of shoes and shoelaces, keep them dry and they will last for a long time. For those who are runners they know which shoes work best for them, if you are just starting out choose a shoe that feels snug on your foot but stills gives you comfort when you walk or run.

There are different ways to lace your women’s trainers that will help to keep your shoes straight. The standard cross laces are what you generally see on a shoe, you can lace the toe in a cross manner and the middle part with straight laces. This design helps to keep your women’s sneakers tight and still gives you a properly laced running shoe.

Treat Your Feet Right and Choose the Right Womens Trainers

When you are out there hitting the pavement, you want your feet to be protected with the right pair of womens trainers.  Your feet will be doing a great deal of twisting and shearing so it is important that the woman sneakers you pick out are customized for your particular feet.

Far too many times novice runners make the mistake of going out and bargain shopping for the least expensive pair of running shoes they can find.  They see the shoe clearance table or the rack of shoes on sale in the department store that is where they head.  This is a big mistake because it could result in injury.

When selecting your womens trainers, you need to understand that there is no single “best shoe” that will fit everyone’s needs.  You need to consider a few things when selecting your own personal pair of running shoes such as your biomechanics, the shape of your feet, your weight and the surfaces you plan to run on.

Running shoes fit into three main categories which include motion control, stability and cushioned.  There are three minor categories as well which include racing, performance training and off road.  The three main categories are designed more for your biomechanical needs whereas the second three are more specialized and would be thought of as second shoes.

You can find a pair of womens trainers designed specifically for your feet type by visiting a biomechanics expert or an experienced shoe retailer.  You can also do a simple wet test yourself to figure which woman sneakers are right for you.

The wet test is where you study the shape of your wet footprint on a piece of paper or a dry floor.  It will show you the features and stability you should look for in a shoe.  The three different feet types to look for include:

The Normal Foot – This will leave a wet print which has a flare but the heel and forefoot will connect by broad band.  The normal foot will land outside the heel and roll inwards.  A good pair of shoes for this type of foot would be stability shoes which are designed for overpronation.

The Flat Foot – This shows the whole sole of the foot and has a low arch. It falls on the outside of heel and excessively rolls inwards.  The best pair of shoes for this type of foot is the motion control which controls severe overpronation.

The High Arched Foot – This leaves a very thin band or none at all between the heel and forefoot. The best pair of shoes for this type of foot is the cushioned which provide flexibility and extra shock absorption.

It is very important that you choose the right pair of womens trainers because it is the choice that you make that will determine if you have a good experience while running or a bad one.  By getting the right woman sneakers, you will save yourself a good deal of pain and discomfort as well as stay free of injury.

Tribal Running With or Without Running Trainers

Many athletes have had to drop out of a race or two due to injuries on some part of their feet. This is strange considering that running is not a contact sport. Yet despite the rapid technological advancements made in design and manufacture of running trainers the spate of running related injuries has not reduced at all. Reports about athletes failing to take part in scheduled races due to injuries abound in the media. This recent phenomenon appeared with the introduction of heavily padded running shoes. Before their introduction, there were virtually no reports of running related injuries anywhere.

Prior to the introduction of running shoes, the world witnessed the spectacular performance of athletes such as Abebe Bikila of Ethiopia winning long distance races while running barefoot. Modern athletes such as Zola Budd of South Africa and Tegla Loroupe of Kenya have excelled in their careers running barefoot.

Many world long distance running champions come from Kenya and Ethiopia. Many junior athletes in these two countries are too poor to afford running trainers. Yet this does not prevent them from setting world records in the races.

The Tarahumara Indians from Mexico are known for their extraordinary endurance in long distance races. They compete in ultra race competitions of 50 to 100 miles and record impressive results. Most of them run barefoot. Others wear sandals made from pieces of rubber tires. Despite this ‘disadvantage’, they are still able to run long distances without sustaining the kind of injuries most modern runners complain about.

Research studies indicate that barefoot running causes no injuries to the runner. In fact, it strengthens the foot and the lower part of the leg. Barefoot running is significantly different from shod running. A barefoot runner strikes the ground with the ball of the foot. The foot and the calf are able to absorb the impact of the strike and use the energy generated by the strike to propel the runner forward.

Those who wear running trainers have a different scenario. The heavy padding that characterizes many running shoes cause the runner to land on their heels instead of the forward part of the foot. This has a detrimental effect because the shock of the strike is felt on the heels and goes up to the kneecap and hipbone. It also disrupts the foot’s natural movement, as the lower part of the leg is not able to absorb the impact of the strike. The continuous striking of the heel ultimately increases the athlete’s susceptibility to stress injuries.

Many athletes who use running trainers eventually start complaining of ankle sprains and pains on the lower part of the foot. Others sustain severe injuries such as Planter Fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. Shin splitting is also quite common among athletes. Researchers have also observed that running trainers have a psychological effect on the athlete’s running style. The more padding the runner believes his shoe has the harder he/she strikes the ground. This ends up making a bad situation even worse.

Athletes have much to gain by running barefoot. It is much safer for the feet and significantly reduces the prospect of sustaining stress related injuries caused by repetitive heel striking. It also improves performance. Barefoot running makes use of natural gravitational forces to propel the runner forward in a spring like fashion. The runner’s feet touch the ground lightly. The feet are also lifted up to avoid the prospect of injuring the foot through continuous friction with the ground.

Barefoot running straightens the back, and strengthens the calf muscles and lower part of the foot. One can also run on any kind of surface. You can run on asphalt as well as dirt tracks. Your feet only need to develop a few calluses and you are good to go.

Studies indicate that the low incidence of ankle and foot injuries in many developing countries is largely due to running barefoot. The inability to afford a pair of running trainers has turned out to be a boon for them.

The Tarahumara Indians have shown the way. Running barefoot or with light sandals coupled with eating light meals has contributed to their extraordinary ability to run long distances without tiring easily or injuring their feet. The trends emerging from the ultra races indicate that as the race wears on, benefits associated with gender or age disappear. Women are able to hold their own against men in the race, and the elderly can match the youth.

Running Trainers vs. Barefoot Running: Which Is The Better Choice

If you ask the average person if running barefoot is more dangerous than running with expensive running trainers, they would most likely agree that it is. However, not everyone agrees and the line of thinking that going bare foot is actually better is growing at a steady rate. After all, it is fact that man has been running for much longer than there have been womens trainers and mens trainers and they seemed to do just fine.

Before 1972, people wore thin soled shoes when they ran, if they wore any at all. There were no where near as many foot and knee injuries as there are now. Many researchers believe that this is because the modern running shoe is actually causing more harm than good. They say that it is making the feet weak and the shoes are causing excess ankle rotation. This means that more and more people are going to be plagued by some sort of foot, ankle or knee injury during their running career.

Now, there are many running trainers that claim to give better support and to prevent injuries, but it seems that this has not truly been accomplished. After all, the shoe industry has had many years and has spend millions of dollars trying to prevent injuries, even though no injuries have really been prevented at all. The shoes are not helping as much as some would think that they are.

To be honest, there has actually been an increase in certain injuries. The Achilles tendon has seen an increase of ten percent in injuries since the 1970′s. Another thing to think about, it has been known through research conducted in Hawaii, that runners who stretch before they exercise have increased their chances of getting hurt by 33%. This is astonishing for many people. We have been taught that you stretch and wear great shoes to prevent injury. Now there are many people, including well educated and experienced researchers, who are telling us otherwise.

What about the reports and research showing that expensive running trainers help prevent injury? Wait – there isn’t any. There is however a lot of shoe companies telling everyone that their products do the feet good. But in reality, it appears that the womens trainers and mens trainers being sold at high prices are not as good as they claim to be.

You probably already know that your expensive running trainers are not making you run faster. Now you are starting to see that they might not even be protecting your feet, ankles or knees from injury and they might even be the cause of such injuries. So, what is it exactly that you are paying hundreds of dollars for when you shoe shop?

There is no doubt that many people see running trainers, especially womens trainers, as fashionable. Let’s face it, some of the designs are pretty incredible. If you are out shopping for shoes for fashion or are simply more concerned about looking good while running, then go for it. Now, there is one benefit that can be said to be received by wearing these shoes. You will not develop as many rough patches of skin and you do not run the risk of having your feet cut or poked by rocks, sticks or glass. So, there does seem to be some advantages. However, most people who are buying the running trainers are running on tracks and they are not encountering many sticks and glass on the track.

There have been studies done where barefoot runners have been observed. When a close look is taken, it can be seen that the runners have a better range of motion with their feet than they would if they shove them in shoes. The feet are able to spread, flex, and properly grip the surface that is being ran on. What this means is that you are going to get a lot more distribution of pressure. This means less injuries.

Alright, so let’s say that you are insisting on sticking to running trainers. You have your reasons or maybe you just do not want to change your habits. You can do this if you want but you might want to stick with the cheap shoes. Even though we have been programmed to believe that the more expensive the shoe is, the better you will perform, that apparently is not the case at all. Some studies say that you are twice as likely to end up with some sort of injury using shoes that cost more than $95 than you would if you were using shoes that cost you less than a mere $40. This is something to think about.

Now, if you decide that you want to try running barefoot, it is important to make sure that you move forward with caution. Even if it is proven that running barefoot is best, you have trained your body and mind to run with running trainers. This means that if you start running barefoot, you are going to want to take it slow. Our bodies were designed to run barefoot, but you have to slowly go back to that after being in shoes for so long.

As you can see, there is certainly a lot to think about. What you decide to do is completely up to you. Because many people see benefits in using the running trainers and running barefoot, they will alternate and do both. The route you take is up to you but it is one that you should put a lot of thought into. This is not so you can win a race, but rather so that you are keeping yourself free from as many injuries as possible.

Womens Trainers and Their History

Women are very fortunate as they can purchase and wear many different styles of shoes there are no limits to what they can buy and wear. Although there are so many different styles to choose from, if you want something that is comfortable and looks great with many different outfits then you should ensure you own a pair of womens trainers. Not only are they incredibly comfortable but they look great as well even if you don’t use them as a sports shoe you will find they are an essential part of your wardrobe. People who compete and actively participate in sports know how essential it is to get the ideal running trainers.

The trainer or training shoe was originally made in the early 1900′s and was a very basic model produced by a rubber company. Over time the designs and styles become better and more and more people choose to wear them. Although the market in the beginning was very small but soon grew when young boys wanted to wear the same footwear as their idols. In the 1930′s the manufacturers realized they had to offer better looking womens trainers and when the Olympics were revived this style of shoe became even more popular.

In the 1970′s running and jogging at home became very popular which encouraged more and more people to go out and buy women’s trainers.  Soon there were different styles of trainer for different purposes and women could have trainers for different sports. By the 1980′s running shoes were everywhere and most people owned a pair of good quality trainers?  Nike and Reebok soon became the market leaders in the trainer field and soon came up with new and exciting technology for running trainers. Many top sports men and women endorsed the trainers they wore and even some came up with their own trainer line. In the 1990′s the sales of trainers was at its highest and the advancements for womens trainers was amazing. Manufacturers realized that women’s feet are different to men’s and such they needed their own style and type of trainer.

Although quite often the trainers you choose to purchase are simply a fashion statement if you do run or jog every day you will want the correct running trainer. This style of running shoe may look very similar to other ones they offer you more comfort and support whilst exercising. The manufacturers have realized that all feet are different and every person runs differently so the trainer needs to adapt to this. Modern womens trainers are often made from lightweight material and have a mesh fabric upper and synthetic soles these are to allow as much movement as possible when running. When you run you are putting a huge amount of pressure on your ankles, feet and legs and you to support your feet as much as possible.

When you are selecting your running trainers you need to keep several things in mind, they need to be a good fit and ideally you should have an inch gap between your toes and the front of the trainer. When you try them on jog on the pot for a while and see if they are fitting well, they should not rub or scratch your foot. The soles should be well cushioned to allow for the impact of running and allow for how heavy you are and how far you run. Although you can get some very affordable womens trainers you need to ensure that you spend a good amount of money on your running shoes if you want them to be the best.

You really do get what you pay for with trainers if they are simply to wear for fashion reasons then a cheaper brand is ideal. However if you are using your womans trainers to go running in then you need them to be able to last whatever you put them through. Top quality trainers go through several tests to ensure they are suited to exercise and running. You are paying for this technology when you buy a more expensive brand and they will last you for a longer period. You can get some very fashionable womens trainers which can be worn on a day to day basis although once you begin to buy trainers you will find that you have several different pairs.

Womens trainers this is where to start if you need to know the basics

The market for womens trainers are flooded with different brands, styles, colors and so forth so for a beginner or novice runner it might seem impossible to choose the right running trainer. How should you be able to know what it is all about and why should one brand be better than the other. This is a question that many faces when they want to buy a pair of womens trainers but is it really that difficult to make the right choice. All humans are different and so are the feet so most manufactures try to make running trainers for most of the different feet and not just the average person. Basically womens trainers are build the same way and below I will try to give you some clues to make everything easier for you.

Some people find only one or two brands of womens trainers that they find perfect but whether you prefer Adidas, Ascis, Reebok, Nike, Brooks or any other brand is up to you and then maybe a try out in a shop because they all have different ways of fitting the foot. First of all you have the upper part of the shoe where you tie your laces (Salomon has made a very nice and smart way to tie your laces which only Salomon can use because they have a patent on this). On this upper part which with some shoes because of the chosen fabric is called the mesh you also see the design of the sneakers with the different colors. This part is secured to the mid sole and the rest of the shoe and is what provides part of the stability.

The mesh can make womens trainers more or less breathable and you should decide weather your feet gets really hot or not. The mid sole is between the inner sole and outer sole and is where you find most of the stability which provides cushioning and shock absorption. Under the arch of your foot is where you find the support which is different from running trainer to running trainer depending on weather you have a foot that needs support on the inside (pronate) or support on the outside (supinate) or if you are a neutral runner and need no support. The outer sole has to fit what terrain you are going to run. If you run trail you need a more rough outer sole etc.

Insoles are found in all womens trainers but they are standard insoles which for some might not be enough. You can find insoles that gives your feet more or less support, that keeps your feet more or less warm, insoles that are more stiff or soft and it all comes down to what you find better. Many physiotherapist will say you need better support not to get injuries but I find that rubbish because your feet are made to run with out any support and that is why I would recommend to go with the standard insole which will work for the majority.

Womens trainers that has a wrong fit will cause so much disturbance when running that you might as well use the time to get the right running trainer from the beginning. This also meaning have a walk in your new shoes inside make sure the toe box is right for your toes other wise you will loose nails when running and get blisters very fast. The toe box has to be so big that you can wiggle your toes inside with no problem and remember if you are a long distance runner the running shoe has to be even bigger because your feet will get a size or more bigger when they get hot.

Have you ever been out there with your womens trainers and felt that ankle collar not having a firm grip on your ankle. This is why it is so important to make sure the ankle collar has the right fit. The ankle collar is also part of the stabilization when running and even though you will find many trainers with soft and nice ankle collars you will have to make sure they fit otherwise you might also end up with injuries.

Humans are different and so are our feet some need womens trainers that are more wide and some need to have a narrow running shoe. Just make sure you spend some time picking the right shoe otherwise you will be sorry later when it is all to late. I really hope this article has given you just a few pointers on what to look out for – Good luck with your new running shoes.

How a pair of womens trainers changed my life

Never would I in a million years think that my old womens trainers would give me such a great change in life. Right now I am about to reveal the secrets of running or how those daily runs changed my life.

For many years I have been doing sports but always thought that running was a boring way of doing exercise but was I wrong. The last 6 years I have been pulling on my womens trainers to go running almost every day and it all started with friends telling me I should give it a try because then I would start to see things change.

I got sacked and things just had to take a dramatically change for the better and I decided to change quite a few things to get straightened out with my life. One of the things I did was to start running.

I dug out my old womens trainers from the closet which I used to use when I had regularly workouts at the gym. They were dusty but I was sure they could do the job and just a few seconds later my feet was ready to go rocking on the road.

That morning I left my flat and came back as a whole new person or at least for a while because by the end of the day I got really tired and my stupid thoughts came crawling back again and the next thing was me in a bad mood the rest of the evening.

The next days things looked like the first day. I got my womens trainers on and got out that door to do my running. I returned like a new person but by night time things changed again. I did not want to give up and for a while I kept doing my daily runs in the morning and after just 3 miles I always came home with renewed energy.

This scenario kept on for a few weeks where I got my womens trainers on, did my running and came back as a new person but by evening I was depressed again. After the first 2 weeks things started to take a turn and now when I reached night time I was still happy and I started to realize that I could not live without my daily runs.

For the last 6 years I have been pulling out my Womens trainers and I have never felt better. Occasionally I miss a day but then I do a longer run the next day. Please do me a favor try the same cure if you feel down or low on energy and after a while things will change.
